SYNOPSIS: Cinderella, the world’s most famous fairytale, comes to Sutter Street Theatre! Cinderella’s life is not an easy one, especially living with her Stepmother and Stepsisters, but when a heartfelt wish leads to an encounter with her very own Fairy Godmother, her life begins to transform in a magical way! This adaptation of Cinderella will touch your heart, make you laugh and remind you that anything is possible if you just believe!

The audition will consist of cold readings from the script.

CHARACTERS:

The roles of CINDERELLA and FAIRY GODMOTHER/GOLDIE have been precast. All other roles are open and available.

PRINCE ( Male, Older Teen/Young Adult ) – Handsome, kind and fun to be with. Loves his parents, but has not met the right girl and feels pressure from them to marry.

BERTHA/OLDER STEPSISTER ( Female, Older Teen/Young Adult ) – Stepsister to Cinderella. Thinks she should get everything because she is the oldest. She and Fanny always go toe to toe. They treat Cinderella very badly.

FANNY/YOUNGER STEPSISTER ( Female, Young Teen/Teen ) – Stepsister to Cinderella and younger sister to Bertha. Always hungry and thinks she is the prettiest girl in the house.

STEPMOTHER/FLORA (Female, Adult) – Mother of Bertha and Fanny, Stepmother to Cinderella. She misses her husband, and is overwhelmed with taking care of three girls alone. She indulges Bertha and Fanny and resents Cinderella.

FATHER/JACOB (Male, Adult) – Father to Cinderella and former Baron. He has been gone since Ella was a little girl.

PAGE 1/PETER (Male, Teen/Young Adult) – Friend and Page to the Prince, from the same village as Cinderella. He thinks Cinderella is a perfect match for his friend.

PAGE 2/PAUL (Male, Boy/Young Teen) – The younger brother of Peter, funny and likes to tease.

HAROLD/TRUMPETER (Male, Older Teen/Young Adult) – Best friend of the Prince. Enjoys hunting and entertaining the Prince with humor. At the Palace, he is the Royal Trumpeter.

SQUIRE/HECTOR: (Male, Older Teen/Adult) – Another good friend of the Prince.

MEWSETTE THE CAT (Female, Young Girl) – Cinderella’s cat.

APRIL THE MILLINER’S DAUGHTER (Female, Teen/Young Adult) – Daughter of the local hatmaker. Has a bubbly personality and is a bit of a flirt.

AMBER THE HABERDASHER’S DAUGHTER (Female, Teen/Young Adult) – Designs and sells cloth and ribbon in the village.

IMELDA THE COBBLER’S DAUGHTER (Female, Older Teen/Young Adult) – Daughter of the Village Shoemaker. Has a fun personality and loves to dance.
