Following is information about classes held at the Sutter Street Theatre Annex, 710 Figueroa Street, Folsom.

    • All classes require a $25 deposit to hold a space in the class which will be used as part of the first month’s tuition.
    • Payment is due at the first session of each month and is for four sessions per month.
    • Students from the same family receive a 10% discount for each additional student.
    • Currently, masks are required and temperatures will be taken.
    • Except for Oil Painting and Private Lessons, a minimum of five registered students is required for a class to be held.

      • Showcase performances are presented every 3-4 months.

Improv for Young People with Allen Schmeltz

Instructor: Allen Schmeltz

Fridays 4:00pm – 5:30pm
Age: 11-18
Tuition: $60/month, weekly classes
Limit of 12 students.

In the Improv class, students practice the skills of acting and improvisation through theatre games and exercises all while having fun in a safe, learning environment. The class is ongoing, and students may join at any time!

Private Acting Lessons with Allen Schmeltz or Alison Gilbreath

Age: All ages
Tuition: $35 per weekly 30-minute in person lesson. Zoom lessons also available for $30 for a 30-minute lesson.

Audition coaching is $50 for a one-hour session. Video recording of your audition is also available at an additional cost. Oil Painting with Mike Jimena

Instructor: Mike Jimena

Ongoing Every Tuesday 4:30pm – 7:30pm
(Additional times available by appointment)

Ages: 10 through Adult, all skill levels
Tuition: $100/month for 3 sessions (includes all supplies)

Oil Painting with Mike Jimena is taught in a self-paced studio setting.  Based on Mike Jimena’s award-winning technique, each student progresses, learns, and develops at his or her own pace.  Student work is included in periodic Art Shows and Receptions. The class is ongoing and may be started at any time. Classes do not need to be consecutive.

 

 

 

Oil Painting for Home Shoolers

This workshop is scheduled for homeschoolers and comes with a higher concentration of one-on-one instruction to develop the skills and technique of the student.

$100 for three 2-hour classes, including all supplies.
(Note: We can accept vouchers on a pre-negotiated fee with schools. Call for details.)

 

 


Musical Theatre with Alison Gilbreath

Thursdays 6:00pm – 7:00pm


Ages: 10-18 yrs.
Tuition: $80/month or $25/class for drop-ins

Instructor: Alison Lewis Gilbreath

 

In this class, students will cover all aspects of Musical Theatre performance including solo songs, choral works, character building, audition technique, movement, stage presence, and confidence.

Acting Class with Alison Gilbreath

Mondays 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Age: 10-18 yrs.
Tuition: $80/month or $25/class for drop-ins

This class will cover acting theory based on the Stanislavski technique and will focus on creating a character, script analysis, performing monologues, sight-reading, audition preparation, stage presence, and confidence.

 


Children’s Intro to Theatre with Lindy Mallonee

Thursdays 5:00pm – 6:00pm

Ages: 6-9 yrs.
Tuition: $60/month for weekly classes

This class offers young ones an introduction to basic theatre skills and acting techniques while having fun through drama activities, role-playing, ensemble games, stage movement, music, vocal projection, crafts, costume & set production.
