INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Because when your child joins our stage, you join our community.

At Sutter Street Theatre Academy, we know that choosing a program for your child isn’t just about fun—it’s about trust. We take that responsibility seriously. From safety protocols to emotional support, we’re committed to creating an environment where every child feels seen, supported, and free to grow.

Our commitment to safety

All instructors undergo background checks

Every adult working directly with children is fingerprinted and screened through DOJ background checks. We hire experienced teaching artists who not only bring talent, but integrity and care.

Emotional well-being matters

Our team is prepared to help young performers navigate big feelings—whether it’s first-day jitters, stage fright, or the natural ups and downs of creative expression. We focus on emotional regulation through empathy, patience, and positive communication.

Inclusive of individual needs

If your child has specific learning or behavioral needs, we welcome a conversation. We’ll work with you to create a plan that helps your child feel safe, included, and successful on stage and off.

Secure facilities & sign-in/out

Children are never left unsupervised. Our sign-in and sign-out process ensures that students are only released to authorized adults. During workshops and classes, our theatre space is monitored and private.

A true partnership with parents

We believe kids thrive when caregivers and teachers are on the same team. We’ll keep you in the loop on your child’s progress, upcoming performances, and any moments where a little extra support might be helpful.

If you ever have a concern, question, or feedback—we want to hear it. Your voice matters, and we’re here to listen.

A place where all kids belong

Whether your child is loud or quiet, experienced or brand new, we hold space for them to discover, explore, and grow. Our programs are designed to meet students where they are and help them take the next step forward—on stage and in life.
