What makes our academy special

Performance through practice

We believe students grow by doing. Every program emphasizes hands-on learning by rehearsing, experimenting, and ultimately performing. Whether it’s a weekly class or a full-scale production, students gain experience by being part of the process from start to finish.

Inclusive and accessible

Everyone belongs here. No matter a student’s age, experience level, background, or personality, we provide a safe and respectful space where theatre is a tool for connection, creativity, and community.

Professional instruction, personal connection

Our instructors are passionate educators. We foster a welcoming, personalized environment where each student is seen, supported, and encouraged to bring their unique voice to the stage.

Confidence over perfection

We care more about growth than polish. Students are celebrated for taking creative risks, learning from mistakes, and supporting one another. The goal isn’t to be perfect. It’s to be brave, expressive, and open to discovery.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need prior theatre experience to join?

Nope! Our programs welcome all experience levels. Whether you’re brand new or returning to the stage after a break, we meet you where you are and help you grow from there.

What’s the difference between a class and a workshop?
  • Classes meet weekly and focus on skill-building over time—perfect for trying something new or sharpening specific techniques.

  • Workshops are more intensive and often lead to a final performance, with a clear beginning, middle, and end. They typically meet more frequently over a shorter span.

What’s your cancellation/refund policy?

Our policy varies slightly depending on the program, but we do our best to accommodate life’s unpredictability. If something comes up, contact us as soon as possible so we can work with you.

Where do classes and performances take place?

All Academy programs are either held at Sutter Street Theatre (717 Sutter Street) or the Rehearsal Studio (710 Figueroa Street) in Folsom. Specific spaces vary by program and will be noted on the registration page.

What should students wear?

Comfortable clothes that allow for movement, and closed-toe shoes. If a particular program requires dance shoes, costumes, or other materials, we’ll let you know in advance.

How do I stay informed once I’m registered?

We’ll email you everything you need before the program begins—including schedules, what to bring, and any updates. If you have questions at any point, we’re just a message away.

Still have questions?

We’re here to help. Whether you’re unsure which program is the right fit, need help with registration, or want to chat about your child’s unique needs, don’t hesitate to reach out. Fill out the form below and someone from our team will be in touch soon.
